Roadtrip: snowy mountains.

On the fourth week that my parents were here, we had a short roadtrip all the way to Jindabyne, passing through Canberra. I was pretty excited for this trip because of the chances that we might actually see/touch snow! Was really hoping for pretty landscapes and had all these ideas in my head but sadly none of them played out due to the terrible weather.

We stopped by a winery as we crossed the ACT borders and i found a new taste of red wine that i prefer, called Tempranillo. Though i've usually leaned more to white wine with my ultimate favourite being Moscato (its more of a dessert wine).

It was a long drive to Jindabyne, and after a doze or two, our interest peaked at the first glimpses of white on the mountains. I've always pictured snow to be this fluffy white thing but turns out its actually just like touching shaved ice. Lol snowball fights look so harmless but now i'm guessing it hurts like zomg. We couldn't really spend a long time out of the car because it was both raining and super cold. And to top it off, we were touching snow without any gloves on! :O

Our accommodation was this faraway cabin that somehow screamed like a thriller to me. I swear i got so paranoid at times, especially at night. Let it be reminded that outside is pitch black with not a soul in sight so if anything were to happen, no one would ever know or find out.. Yeeah this is what happens when you watch too many crime shows lol.

We had visitors as the sun started to set too!

Dinner in town was so expensive and in such tiny portions. Probs taking the opportunity since there's more supply than demand meh. We had breakfast at home and then spent about an hour-ish in town. Pretty much nothing to do in this part of NSW except the snow fields. Already planning to have a short getaway to Thredbo to ski/snowboard next time.

Wombat lairs! Big enough for any human to crawl in!

We left early the next day because we were planning to look around Canberra. Went to a couple of markets to kill time before the long drive back home. Wasn't much of a trip though because the weather was so bad and we basically ended up staying indoors or in the car the whole time. Ah well.

Can't believe 6 weeks has passed that fast. Parents are already leaving tomorrow and its gonna be so quiet around here again. I'm gonna miss having my mom come in my room every morning before i leave to work, and my dad constantly asking me to take a picture of him like a tourist. Ah, sucks to be so far away from home.
