Roadtrips!
Wednesday, January 16, 2013 || 12:28 PM. 0 comments

Melbourne's main tourist attraction would definitely be the 12 Apostles and Mel's friend, Valerie, agreed on taking us there. We were told that the drive would take about 3hrs so we headed out reasonably early but first grabbed breakfast at The Hardware Societe. It felt weird to have such good breakfast that early (around 8-ish) cause usually the only places that are open at that hour would be Maccas lol.

This is my second roadtrip with Mel and knowing us, there's always that karaoke sesh at the start of the journey. Our voices are magical ok HAHAHA jks. The drive along the Great Ocean Road seemed to take forever but we would take short pit stops along the way to put our cameras into action. We even stumbled upon this beach that had a secluded spot with rock pools and short cliffs, to which we probably spent about an hour there just trying to get the right pictures.

By the time we arrived the 12 Apostles, it was about 4pm and crawling with tourists at every corner. We had to squeeze ourselves through barricades of people just to get the right spots. And there was this same couple that happen to block my shots like nearly every time! So annoying hmpf.

Can't actually see in this picture but there are only 7 left now.

Lol pardon the formal look. I had to tie my hair up cause the winds were just crazy and the only jackets i brought along were blazers. Didn't foresee the need to wear them that often, it being summer. We took the inner roads back home and had dinner along the way. It was already dark out when we finally reached home and i was so drained by then. We recovered by snuggling under the covers and watching a good movie in bed :D

The next day, we joined Boonie's family for a short retreat to Mount Dandenong. It reminded me so much of Kundasang, with its cold air and dense woods surrounding the entire drive. Mel and i even had an idea to go Twilight style in the woods LOL but unfortunately we never got the chance.

Brunch was at this lovely little place called Miss Marple's Tea Room. Shan't bother with food pictures as they're already up in the photography blog (here). There was this store next door selling tea leaves/bags and pretty teapots and i was so tempted to get one but they cost a bomb :(

The guys then drove us up to the observatory where we went a little photo crazy at nearly every spot heh. Instead of looking and admiring the view, we were more like admiring our pictures and poses of each other hahaha whoops.

It was a relatively short getaway compared to the trip to the 12 Apostles but we still had tons fun. Roadtrips are always awesome when you've got the best kind of company with you :)

More pictures can be found on my photography blog!

much love
